Next Gathering - Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Hi Needle Nutz!

Our next gathering will be at Carol’s house on Wednesday, September 30, and we’ll be working on making the “craft bag” like the one Nancy brought to our last meeting. These are very cool bags!

As always, bring something else if you’re not interested in making a bag. The bag could be made in just about any size, but we are providing two sizes. Let me know in advance if you want to make the bag and what size you want (if you haven’t already). The screen comes in large rolls and I’ll only purchase the amount I know we will use! I have the strap material as well, but again, I need to know in advance if you want me to provide it. I have black, but depending on your fabric you may want to use another color. Large bag needs 116” and the standard one needs 106”.

The cost for the screen for the 16x15 (standard bag) will be $3.50 and the cost for the 20x18 (large bag) will be $5.50. The large bag is meant to b large enough to hold your 18x24 cutting mat and supplies for quilt class. This is just cost! The screen will be cut and ready to sew and we’ll give you a pattern hand-out and Nancy will give us step by step instructions.

If you will be making a bag, you will need to bring your sewing machine, pins, ruler and mat and the fabric you want to add to your bag.

For large bag cut fabric in advance to 22”x7” (cut 2) and 22”x6” (cut 2).
For the standard bag cut fabric in advance to 18”x 6” (cut 2) and 18”x 5” (cut 2).
Cutting in advance will give you more time for sewing, sharing and visiting!

If you need directions to Carol’s house contact Carol, Vickie or Linda. Directions will not be provided on our blog~

See you there,
Linda

  2. Gotcha covered Dale!

I was thinking it would be really cute to make a smaller version with Halloween fabric for trick or treat bags for the grand kids too! This will be a fun project~ Linda
