The Morning After - May 12th, 2010

The morning after......

A good time was had by all last time we met on Wednesday, the 12th of May --- or at least I had a great time. We hadn't met since late January, so there was a lot of catching up to do.

Jessie and Shirley joined us this time and are ready to learn to quilt!

We saw some wonderful stuff that people had been working on. Linda's quilt for her grandson is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful batiks and interesting turning of blocks actually made from 2 1/2" precut strips. I believe called "Bali Pops".

Nancy's handbags are stellar quality. We all agreed she should go into the business and sell them.

Patty is a friend of Nancy's and a new face to our group. She brought several applique' projects that she had either completed or is working on. She also was a great help to Jessie, who is very new to sewing, helping her get her machine up and running.
Poor Georgia found a "Missy wet spot" in my dining room and I am still feeling badly about that -- life with animals.

Aubrey did bring her finished locker hook trivet and it is lovely!

Gretta showed us her table runner that she recently made --- gorgeous!

Shirley and I did a great job with food if I do say so myself. We did all finger things and some pizza straight out of Costco. Everyone kept saying there was so much, but ladies, there weren't a lot of leftovers --- so we must have done okay.
We all agreed on having a basics class for our next few meetings and Vickie agreed to teach it using a simple table runner pattern. She will get a material list and pattern out to folks before the next meeting which I believe we decided on the 23rd of June. Barb and I said that we would do food and we promise to make it simple.

Oh, I almost forgot, the biggest news of the evening! Gretta is having a baby! She is due in December and they know now that they will be transferring to England in September, so the baby will be born there. We will all havbe to go visit!
